 Decatur's annual Arts Festival gets under way this month when the official poster for the festival is unveiled at the Old Courthouse on the Square on May 7 at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend and enjoy complimentary beverages and snacks. Other notable Arts Festival events for the month include:
•Decatur Civic Chorus Concert at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 17 at First Baptist Church of Decatur.
•Opening reception for the festival's fine art exhibition at the Agnes Scott College Dalton Gallery on Tuesday, May 19 at 5 p.m.
•The Decatur Art Walk on Friday, May 22, when shops and restaurants all around Decatur stay open late, offering snacks and beverages and displays of works by local artists.
•Live music performances at the community bandstand on the Square, every hour on the hour, beginning at noon on May 23.
•The highly-anticipated Artists Market on Saturday and Sunday, May 23 through 24, when more than 140 artists display and sell their artworks from booths around the downtown square.
