Bike Emory article: Emory is Test Site for Electronic Bikes

 Not surprisingly, Emory's 1762 Clifton Road building -- located on a steep hill -- is the first test site for Fuji’s electronic pedal-assist bicycles. The bikes, which operate on a battery pack, are stored in the charging station of the lobby of Plaza 1000.
Cyclists engage the throttle on the right handlebar whenever extra pedal power is needed. It is the latest initiative of Bike Emory, which recently encouraged cyclists to participate in the National Bike to Work Day.
Any Emory faculty, staff or student can take these bikes for a spin -- a free rental includes a helmet and lock -- but the bicycles must be returned the same day to the 1762 Clifton Road building. Users will be asked to provide feedback to Fuji Bikes through a post-ride survey.
