All of us can do things to conserve energy and reduce our carbon footprints in the community. Here’s what you can do:
.Turn off the lights when leaving a room.
.Bike, walk or take transit when traveling short distances.
.Unplug cell phone, iPod and digital camera chargers because they can rob you of energy just by being plugged in—even when not in use.
.When you purchase new supplies for your home office, choose recycled content, recyclable and reusable products such as toner for printers. Then, recycle whatever you can!
.Turn off computers when not in use.
.Eat local food, purchase fair trade products as they become available and carry those purchases in a reusable tote, rather than a plastic bag.
.Change the most used light bulbs in your house from incandescent to compact fluorescent and see the savings on your electric bill add up.
