CCP Advisory Group Reviews First Draft of Urban Design Guidelines
June 4, 2008
Source: Community Partnership Update/October 2007
In August the Clifton Community Partnership (CCP) Advisory Group received the draft recommendations for the Urban Design Guidelines document for the for the Clifton community from Goody Clancy & Associates. Since then, the CCP Advisory Group members and Goody Clancy have been heavily engaged in the review process and have collected comments and suggestions from civic and neighborhood associations as well as observations from the local business community and the DeKalb County Planning Department.
“The guidelines honor our history as they walk us into the future of our particular corner of DeKalb County,” said Sally Sears, CCP Advisory Group member. “This project has helped us understand the need to plan our future and visualize how we could improve our surroundings while preserving what is important. They describe the future for a place that is very uncommon and give us a chance to leverage the beauty around us by careful planning and building.”
A community meeting will be held in November to gather feedback from the community on the recommendations for the Clifton community made by the Urban Design Guidelines document. For more information about the public meeting, visit www.cliftoncommunitypartnership.org.
The CCP Advisory Group is a collection of neighborhood, business, institutional and civic leaders representing broad and varied interests within the greater Clifton community. The group serves as advisors to Emory regarding implementation of its Campus Master Plan as well as improving the quality of life in the Clifton community.
