Bike Emory article:
Ride to Campus Day 2008
October 20, 2008
Show support for cycling as a commuting choice by biking to Emory's campus on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
Bike Emory is encouraging everyone who lives, works, learns and plays in the Clifton community to cycle to campus to promote the cycling culture in the Clifton community.
In the morning, riders will meet in front of Bicycle South, located at 2098 North Decatur Road, at 8 a.m. where a free breakfast will be provided.
Cyclists will depart Bicycle South at 8:30 a.m. and ride down North Decatur Road to Clifton Road. As the group turns right onto Clifton Road, participants will head to their final destinations.
Free T-shirts will be provided to all morning riders and prizes will be awarded to the cyclist with the longest commute and to the participants from the department/school with the largest number of riders. The rider with the best costume will also receive a prize.
Bicyclists are strongly encouraged to cycle to the start of the event at Bicycle South (corner of Clairmont and North Decatur roads). There is very limited parking for this event.
Bike Emory supports safe cycling and strongly encourages all participants in Ride to Campus Day events to wear a helmet.
