Look for Changes to Dowman Drive

This summer the entrance to Emory’s campus on Dowman Drive will begin to look much different. The roadway will be narrowed to a one-way lane entering Emory’s campus, with sidewalks on either side.

The road is being realigned to move traffic through the existing gate, as it was originally intended, and to facilitate access for the planned roundabout at North Decatur Road. Construction of the entrance is scheduled for late May, after commencement, and should last through September. During that time, Dowman Drive will be closed periodically.

After Emory’s main entrance on Dowman Drive is reconfigured, traffic will flow one way from North Decatur Road onto campus. The one-way traffic flow will proceed onto campus up to South Kilgo Circle, near Emory’s administration building and the Carlos Museum; at this point, Dowman Drive will begin two-way traffic.
