Step away from your kitchen and visit Emory Village on Thursday, May 17.

Participating businesses and restaurants in and around Emory Village are donating 10 percent of their proceeds on May 17, when patrons shop and dine from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., to support fund-raising efforts for the new Burbanck Park located down the street from Emory Village.

The new park, which was dedicated last month, is on property owned by Emory and was created through a collaborative arrangement between the University, Druid Hills Civic Association, Park Pride, Peavine Watershed Alliance and the Alliance to Improve Emory Village.

Each group is working to ensure that the 1.2 acre park, strategically situated on Peavine Creek, remains a natural, community-oriented site. Visit www.cliftoncommunitypartnership.org or www.druidhills.org to make a tax-deducible donation to the park – and remember to go to the Village on May 17.

The following businesses and restaurants have agreed to donate a portion of their sales on May 17 in support of Burbanck Park:
• All Fired Up
• Dave’s Cosmic Subs
• Doc Chey’s
• Everybody’s Pizza
• One Hot Cookie
• Saba
• Willy’s in Emory Commons
