AIDS QuiltEmory University pays homage to those lost to and affected by HIV/AIDS by hosting the AIDS Memorial Quilt on the Emory Quadrangle on Tuesday, Dec. 1 – World AIDS Day. Emory's display will be among the largest in the country that day.

The brightly colored squares of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will lay stretched across the Emory Quadrangle, each one a memorial to a loved one lost to AIDS. Every panel tells a story, the fabric of each person's life woven together with photographs, bits of clothing, colorful ribbons, sequins and stuffed animals and a rainbow of materials.

Sponsored by Emory Hillel, the day will begin with an opening ceremony at 11:20 a.m., followed by a public reading of all of the people memorialized on the quilt panels.
