Emory Arts CompetitionOne of Emory's best kept secrets used to be the hidden artistic talent simmering just beneath the surface of the undergraduate, graduate and professional students and staff at the University.

Last year, the Emory Arts competition let the cat out of the bag about the number of unseen talents University employees possess and this year will be no different. The contest was created to promote a sense of community and to increase the awareness of the arts on campus. Through this competition, Emory's staff and students are able to showcase their skills in the areas of music and visual arts, while competing for one of three monetary prizes. The second annual competition will conclude with artists presenting their works at the Emory Arts Competition Gala Night on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. in the Emerson Concert Hall of the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts.

This year's competition offers an opportunity to highlight people from across the University -- in both expected and unexpected ways! The deadline for entries is Wednesday, Jan. 13. For details, visit www.emory.edu/PROVOST/artscompetition.
