Source: Community Partnership Update/September 2010
Join community and University partners on Thursday, Sept. 2 at Tull Auditorium in Emory Law School from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the state's first sustainable agriculture debate with candidates for Agriculture Commissioner for Georgia. Commissioner Tommy Irvin is retiring after 41 years of overseeing Georgia's No. 1 industry, making this year's election a historic opportunity to shape policies that advance sustainable foods and farms across the state. Come hear what the candidates have to say about their commitment to sustainable agriculture.
This event is hosted by Emory University, the Office of Sustainability Initiatives, Emory University School of Law and Department of Political Science, in association with Atlanta Community Food Bank, Georgia Citizens Coalition on Hunger, University of Georgia Agriculture & Environmental Sciences and Whole Foods Market. Emory University, Georgia Organics and its partners do not endorse specific parties or candidates in this or any race. The purpose of this event is an educational voter service.
