Decatur Garden Tour 2010
This month, visitors to Decatur are encouraged to step "behind the fence" to experience first-hand the extraordinary private gardens and thriving community green spaces that decorate the area with the annual Decatur Garden Tour.

Held Sept. 25 -- 26, this year's tour provides fresh ideas and inspiration for garden enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels. The tour is also held in conjunction with the 100th anniversary celebration of the incorporation of Oakhurst, one of Decatur's most popular neighborhoods -- and many of the featured gardens are located in the neighborhood.

In the heart of the neighborhood and standing as a national model for successful community gardening is the Oakhurst Community Garden Project (OCGP), where residents tend plots and adults and children flock for gardening and environmental education classes year-round.
