With the completion of the University's new admissions and bookstore building taking place before students returned to campus, official grand opening celebrations have been scheduled at the Barnes & Noble for Friday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. and will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, live music, giveaways and refreshments. The day's celebrations are expected to conclude by 10 p.m.
"The bookstore is a new and fun study place for students and visitors, and a central greeting point for potential students on tour," said bookstore liaison, Bruce Covey. Shoppers can get more than they bargained for when they step inside this new building. "There are fun reading nooks and comfortable chairs located throughout the bookstore and this location even has a computer store within a store."
Emory's new bookstore and admissions office building opened in July. The Barnes & Noble is open weekdays, 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon until 6 p.m. Starbucks is open weekdays, 6:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on weekends.
Visitor parking is available in the attached parking deck for $2/hour, with a $10/day maximum. Parking fees apply weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
