What is the status of the Clifton Road bridge?

The Clifton Road Bridge over the CSX tracks near Haygood Drive has been scheduled by DeKalb County for replacement. The County is working in partnership with Emory to develop a design that improves traffic flow. Traffic data has been collected and will be used to determine the best configuration for the bridge. The County will seek funding for the bridge from the Georgia Department of Transportation. Emory and the County are working on a plan to maintain traffic flow during bridge construction.

Emory is negotiating the purchase of properties in the Haygood Triangle. One of the goal is to increase green space along Emorys borders and to create a more pleasing aesthetic environment and a clearer delineation between campus and the surrounding community.
